Honouring the heritage of Southern Ocean Lodge and the legacy of its founders’ achievements, the exclusive owner’s residence – first known as the Ocean Pavilion – has been renamed the Baillie Pavilion.

The new name for the Ocean Pavilion celebrates James and Hayley’s vision to provide a distinctively Australian hospitality experience for guests, pioneering meaningful sustainability and conservation initiatives while offering food and wine with a local provenance, genuine service and timeless design.

A new addition to SOL 2.0, the ultra-premium suite sits satellite-like on Kangaroo Island’s limestone cliffs. Key to the pavilion’s function are its dual wings, enabling guests to book the pavilion as an expansive 625 sqm single residence sleeping up to eight guests, or as two separate bookings in the East or West Pavilion.

‘It feels like total immersion in a NatGeo documentary’, notes recent media famil guest, The Australian’s Travel Editor Susan Kurosawa, describing her stay in the pavilion.
