Southern Welcome terms

All flights are additional and may be booked by guests; Qantas operates direct flights between Adelaide and Kangaroo Island. Offer includes minimum two-night stay at The Louise. All rates quoted in Australian Dollars and inclusive of 10% GST. Rates on the Southern Welcome add-on start at $3,000 in a Stonewell Suite at The Louise and apply per suite, for a maximum of two guests. Guests may choose to upgrade their suite type or extend their stay at an additional charge. Additional person rate applies for more than two people sharing a suite (based on select suite types). Subject to availability, not combinable with any other offer.

  • Check-in / Check-out times

    Check-in time is from 2pm. Check-out time is 11am. Where possible, flexibility with early check-in and late check-out will be provided, in the meantime guests are welcome to enjoy the lodge’s generous guest spaces including the restaurant and lounge areas.

  • Rates and inclusions

    All rates quoted in Australian Dollars and inclusive of 10% GST. Rates apply per suite, per night for a maximum of two guests. Extra Person rate available for select suite types. A stay at the lodge is generously all-inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner with inspired daily changing menus, open bar with premium wines and spirits (a cellarmasters list is available at an additional cost), in-suite bar, signature experiences and return Kangaroo Island Airport transfers.

  • Extra person rate

    Extra Person rate applies when staying in the same suite with a minimum of two guests (subject to maximum suite occupancy).

  • Airport transfers

    The lodge operates complimentary airport transfers with fellow guests connecting with scheduled flights to and from Kangaroo Island Airport, ensuring a comfortable 50-minute journey. Upon arrival, meet the Southern Ocean Lodge representative in the Arrivals Hall.

    Private transfers between Southern Ocean Lodge and Kangaroo Island Airport may be arranged subject to availability for an additional charge.

  • Special dietary needs

    As Southern Ocean Lodge is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. Should notice not be provided in advance, our chefs will endeavour to prepare suitable meals with the ingredients available. We regret we are unable to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.

  • Payment policy

    A credit card is required to confirm a reservation. Full prepayment is required two months prior to arrival. We accept Visa, Mastercard or American Express or direct deposit. Payments by Visa or Mastercard attract a 1.6% surcharge; payment by American Express attracts a 2.47% surcharge (surcharges subject to change).

  • Peak season policy

    A minimum three-night stay applies over the Christmas/New Year period 23 December to 3 January inclusive. All bookings during the period 18 December to 15 January inclusive must be secured with a non-refundable deposit of one night’s accommodation within 14 days of reservation.
  • Cancellation policy

    Cancellations and booking amendments received between 60 and 30 days prior to arrival will incur a 50% fee. Within one month prior to arrival all monies paid will be forfeited.

    No refunds or credits can be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services, or unused nights due to travel and/or weather disruption. For peace of mind, we recommend you protect yourself with comprehensive travel insurance to cover any cancellation fees.

  • Child policy

    Southern Ocean Lodge welcomes children ten years and over.

  • Group policy

    At Southern Ocean Lodge a group is defined as five or more suites travelling together. As an intimate property, some special conditions apply to group bookings. View our leisure group policy.
