Chef de Partie and Commis Chef

Southern Ocean Lodge is looking for an experienced and talented Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team in January 2020. You must have a Certificate in Commercial Cookery, proven experience working in a range of different restaurants and hotels, and possess a passion for innovative food and high product integrity. You will be inspired by the wealth and diversity of island and Southern Australian produced gourmet fare to create world class cuisine to guests from around the world.
Spa Therapist

A destination in its own right, the Southern Spa is housed in its own clifftop pavilion and offers mesmerising views of ocean and sky. Guests rejuvenate with personally tailored treatments using the Li’tya spa care range and indigenous massage techniques, combined with Kangaroo Island’s own natural beauty products – Ligurian honey, mineral salts and lavender among them. With three treatment rooms, a steam room and chill lounge you are well prepared to offer the ultimate pampering experience for our well travelled in-house guests. The successful candidate must have a Diploma in Massage/Beauty Therapy and be available to commence in January 2020.
Food and Beverage Attendants

Dining at Southern Ocean Lodge takes place in the Great Room restaurant and terrace, overlooking a vast sweep of Southern Ocean and coastline. A contemporary menu features exclusively local ingredients and is expertly paired with premium South Australian wines. Food and beverage staff at Southern Ocean Lodge are at the forefront of its friendly ‘first-name’ service culture, anticipate guests’ needs and uphold our ‘welcome home’ vibe. This role commences in January 2020.

This is a full time role inclusive of accommodation, meals and utilities as provided in our onsite staff village.

To succeed in your application you will need:

–           Proven section wait staff experience in a similar venue

–           Experience serving wine in a restaurant setting

–           Barista certificate and proven experience making quality espresso

–           Valid NT RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate

–           Strong knowledge of Australian wine as well as cocktail making experience

–           A knowledge and passion for food and beverage
