Fueled for adventure, jump onboard a private tour with Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures for the main event, a swim with wild dolphins.

Local skipper Andrew Neighbour is a natural storyteller and shares a yarn or two whilst zooming along in his custom built vessel to the sheltered waters at Smith Bay, a protected marine sanctuary where bottlenose dolphins come to rest after fishing in deeper waters, known as the ‘dolphins’ lounge room’. He operates a prop-free zone and uses sympathetic acoustic equipment the resident dolphins love. With all equipment provided, it’s just a matter of jumping into the crystalline waters.

While the dolphins are the stars, there’s also the chance to encounter a variety of seabirds including sea eagles, albatross and pelicans, and perhaps spot seals or a whale or two, depending on the season.

The marine tour is a seasonal offering and is subject to weather (generally not available from June through to end August).
