Check-in / Check-out times
Check-in time is from 2pm. Check-out time is 1030am. Where possible, flexibility with early check-in and late check-out will be provided, however, these are unable to be guaranteed. The facilities of the main lodge are available for enjoyment whilst at the property.
Rates and inclusions
Rates quoted are per person per night in Australian Dollars (AUD) and inclusive of 10% goods and services tax (GST). A stay at the lodge is generously all-inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner with inspired daily changing menus, open bar with premium wines and spirits (a cellarmasters list is available at an additional cost), in-suite bar, signature experiences and return Kangaroo Island Airport transfers.
Extra person rate
Extra Person Rate applies when staying in the same suite with a minimum of two guests (subject to maximum suite occupancy).
*The lodge operates complimentary airport transfers with fellow guests connecting with scheduled flights to and from Kangaroo Island Airport, ensuring a comfortable 60-minute journey. Upon arrival, meet the Southern Ocean Lodge guide adjacent to the luggage carousel. On departure, guests may enjoy the lodge’s exclusive airport lounge extending the experience almost to the run way.
Private transfers between Southern Ocean Lodge and Kangaroo Island Airport or the ferry terminal at Penneshaw may be arranged subject to availability for an additional charge.
Special dietary needs
As Southern Ocean Lodge is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. Should notice not be provided in advance, our chefs will endeavour to prepare suitable meals with the ingredients available. We regret we are unable to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.
A credit card is required to confirm a reservation. All bookings require full prepayment two months prior to arrival. We accept Visa, Mastercard or American Express or direct deposit. Payments by Visa or Mastercard attract a 1.6% surcharge; payment by American Express attracts a 2.475% surcharge (surcharges subject to change).
For cancellations within two months of arrival 50% of total paid will be refunded. Within one month prior to arrival all monies will be forfeited. No refund can be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight and/or weather disruption. We recommend you protect yourself with travel insurance.
One amendment outside of 30 days of arrival is permitted utilising the prepaid amount. The new booking must be for stay within six months of the original arrival date, or amount prepaid is forfeited. Prepayment amount is forfeited if new booking is cancelled, regardless of when the cancellation is advised. Alteration to booking details may result in a rate change.
Peak season deposit policy
All bookings over specified peak season periods must be secured with a non-refundable deposit of one night’s accommodation within 14 days of reservation.
